I walked from Stratford to my house in forest hate once - around 2am
And the pubs kicking out were "edgier" than anything I experienced in Brick Lane

Stayed in the Re Hotel just up the road from Shoreditch Station couple of years ago Badger - no more brasses under the bridge these days, the strip clubs looked dog-eared and I could come as I go at all times of day or night as I pleased. Only aggro I saw was a 90 mph car chase between a jag and two old bill beamers.

When I used to live in brick lane 16 years ago - I had no problem walking around at night or the early hours
In fact the scariest thing was the white brasses on wentworth st - and under the tunnel where the new shoreditch station is now
Never have Muslims made me feel "uneasy" - actually they were very hospitable
The skanky white pimps that sold crack to my "media" mates were scarier - but even that was comic book criminals - and nothing to lose my shit over
